Donald Trump defends his congratulatory phone call to Putin, while also attacking his predecessors.

Once again President Obama's call to Putin was at a time BEFORE Russia had interfered in our election, hacked both the RNC and DNC computers, weaponized Facebook, undermined our power grid, and started openly killing people on British soil.

If Obama were the President right now there is NO DOUBT that he would be doing far more than simply excoriating Vladimir Putin.

So why isn't Trump?

Former CIA chief John Brennan has a pretty good idea.
Courtesy of CNN:

The former director of the CIA suggested Wednesday that President Donald Trump is withholding criticism of Russian President Vladimir Putin because the Russians might have compromising personal information on Trump.

"I think he is afraid of the President of Russia," John Brennan said of Trump in an interview on MSNBC's "Morning Joe."

Asked why, Brennan said, "The Russians could have something on him personally that they could always roll out and make his life more difficult."

Bingo!

You should see how the conservatives on Twitter are freaking out over this statement.

I guess it's true what they say, the truth hurts.

Today is World Poetry Day so I couldn't help tweeting this to Donald:

There once was a man named Trump
Who tweeted while taking a dump

    He went on tirades
    Demanding parades

While Putin called him his chump

He looked up the 'word of the day' in his "Despotism for Dummies" daily inspirational reader and he's soooo proud that he can show it off!

      jk - He can't read.

He must also have a dog-eared copy of 'famous quotes' as he never comes up with anything half-way original. I recall barfing when hearing Ronnie Reagan use this phrase to enlarge our military.

I bet dingy donny thought the quote was from his uncle adolph tho.

I love that his tweet also alleges that George W Bush didn’t have the “smarts” to take on Putin. Dubya’s a damned genius and humanitarian compared to Trump.

He also says Clinton and Obama lacked the “energy or chemistry.” Well, Obama and Clinton were both younger and definitely healthier than Trump is when they were in office. I don’t think you can accuse either guy of not having energy...

But chemistry? I’d say Trump’s right, he does have a certain... chemistry with Putin that no other president has had. It comes from being Putin’s bitch.

That's remarkable coming from a GOP member of Congress. Gee whiz! According to the Wash. Post a couple of days ago, even Bernie Sanders rhetorically patted trump on the back for congratulating Putin. I've always had serious doubts about Bernie Sanders; now those doubts are compounded. Who knows where his real loyalties lie; he certainly has never been a Democrat!

I truly believe Trump leaked this story himself to make it look like the intelligence community is out to get him. His constant "I congratulated him" during every interview was a clear sign. Also, to change the headlines away from the Porn star.

"“As soon as we get the facts straight, if we agree with them, we will condemn Russia or whoever it may be,” he said.

Those comments came about a week after Trump downplayed Russian interference during a press conference, saying “it had no impact on our votes whatsoever” and might’ve been the work of other actors.

“Probably there was meddling from other countries, maybe other individuals,” he said, echoing the infamous comment he made during one of the presidential debates about how a “guy sitting on his bed who weighs 400 pounds” may have been responsible for Democratic hacks, not Russia."

Meet the little-known Republican who killed the House Russia investigation

Mike Conaway was supposed to make the Russia probe bipartisan. He didn’t.

...Democrats had expected that Conaway would be an improvement over Nunes, and voiced hope that he could lead a bipartisan investigation. But that didn’t end up happening. And now Conaway is now preparing to issue a highly partisan report that defends the Trump campaign, just as Nunes did.

Twould be nice if that were true. But since the Republican party has members who are pretty tight with the powers that back them monetarily that may or may not happen.
It depends on if the Kock bros. or the like of the Mercer family feel it in their best interest to get rid of shithole don. That's why 6:37 is so sure.

(THREAD) Tonight's CNN tilt between @JeffreyToobin and my former professor @AlanDersh was epic. What Alan says matters more now than ever, given that Trump—whose behavior is increasingly contemptuous of the rule of law—cites him as an authority.

But Alan is wrong—and here's why.
